We are working with a growing, technology-enabled services company to hire an Accounting Manager to own core accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real ownership of the general ledger and month-end close in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
This is a working manager position. You will be expected to execute, not just review.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform detailed general ledger account analysis and proactively resolve discrepancies
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition for subscription and recurring revenue streams in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Maintain and improve close schedules, supporting documentation, and internal controls
- Prepare audit schedules and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Build and maintain Excel-based schedules, models, and tracking tools to support financial reporting
- Partner closely with senior accounting leadership to surface risks and support management reporting
- Lead accounting-related special projects with full accountability for execution and outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven ownership of month-end close and general ledger functions
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, lookups, reconciliations; macros a plus)
- Experience in a subscription-based or recurring-revenue business
- Prior experience supporting external audits
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical, problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Clear communicator who can work cross-functionally
- Process-oriented professional with a track record of improving accounting workflows
