Overview
Final Cut USA Group is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their team in New York or Los Angeles. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with outstanding communication and project management skills. Candidates must be self-motivated with a strong background in accounting. This position reports directly to the Manager of Finance and US Director of Finance. The role is a hybrid of remote and in-office based upon project needs.
Responsibilities- Handle client billing across multiple entities and projects
- Make sure invoices match contracts, bids, and change orders
- Track outstanding invoices and follow up as needed
- Run accounts payable end-to-end: invoices, coding, approvals, and payments
- Work with production teams to code costs correctly by project and entity
- Manage intercompany transactions and allocations
- Help with month-end close, journal entries, and credit card reconciliations
- Support audits and internal reporting
- Maintain accurate cash balances and forecast cash positions
- Improve and streamline billing and AP processes as we scale
- Be self-motivated, proactive, well-organized, accountable and detail-oriented
- Have the ability to anticipate needs, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, and high-volume environment
- Strong background in billing and accounts payable
- Experience working across multiple entities
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Possess strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Good follow-through on all projects, meeting deadlines, and taking ownership of assigned tasks without undue supervision
- Proficient in, Excel, Word, Windows, and various accounting and production software
- Experience in the entertainment industry and production accounting preferred
- 3+ Years of applicable work experience preferred
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is estimated to be $40-50 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
