Content Accounting Analyst

Location:

Crunchyroll has adopted a hybrid work schedule with 3 days a week in office. This role will be based out of our office in Los Angeles, California, United States.

The Crunchyroll Accounting Team is a global organization of over 50 professionals working together to support all of our departments and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company policy and regulatory bodies. Our accountants, analysts, and managers balance the bottom line with several budget priorities and revenue streams. These passionate financial professionals keep their eyes on our numbers to report, plan, and advise—to act as true partners to the business and keep our amazing growth on track.

About

You

In your role at Crunchyroll as the Content Accounting Analyst, you will be responsible for accurate record keeping of our growing number and value of content assets and related liabilities under the applicable IFRS standards and Crunchyroll/Sony accounting policies. Reporting to our Content Accounting Manager, you will be preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reports for financial closes and as needed for analyses in the business.

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience
  • B.S. in Accounting with working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Public accounting experience
  • CPA designation
  • Microsoft Excel skills (Index Match, sumifs, pivot tables, etc.)
  • A curiosity mindset to understand the upstream and downstream impacts of your daily work
Day in the Life of our Content Accounting Analyst

You will be a part of the team responsible for the financial integrity of our content commitments, assets (capitalization), liabilities (payments), and expenses (amortization) as they pertain to Content Accounting related accounts. The Content Accounting Analyst will liaise with the accounts payable, deal management, and business affairs teams to ensure the accuracy of records that are maintained in our financial ledgers (Net Suite).

Responsibilities
  • Assisting in the monthly and quarterly close journal entries accounting for all content assets and liabilities acquired in the period
  • Assisting in the preparation of flux and financial statement analyses
  • Inputting records and associated metadata into our accounting reports
  • Consolidating reports from various stakeholders for analysis, proactively flagging items requiring further investigation
  • Participating in internal projects to help drive successful implementation

Pay Range

Pay Range for this position: $67,000—$83,000 USD.
