Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations and the month-end close process.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and review general ledger account variances.
- Establish and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Review schedules and reports for internal use and external audits.
- Complete accounting tasks to support new bank products, services, or enhancements.
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses and support special projects as needed.
- Communicate effectively with various departments and manage accounting team members.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve accounting issues.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting.
- Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field from a four-year college or university.
- 7+ years of experience in public accounting or public company accounting.
- knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Preferably a CPA license or MBA.
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry (preferred).
