Location: Los Altos, CA – Hybrid Duration: 4 months contact to HireHybrid
Schedule:
- Option 1: 4-day workweek (10-hour days) with Fridays off.
- Option 2:
Standard workweek (4 days remote, at least 1 day onsite).
Minimum: 5 years relevant experience to contribute effectively.
Ideal/Strong: 5 years for full independence and ability to lead complex simulations and AR/VR projects.
5 years of hands‑on experience in AR/VR or 3D development with Unity or Unreal Engine.
Experience creating and optimizing 3D models, simulations, or interactive environments

Some exposure to AR/VR hardware integration (Holo Lens, Oculus, VR headsets) and physics/robotics simulation
.
Optional but highly valuable: experience working with AI/robotics or automotive systems in a research or applied R&D environment.

- Evidence of mature technical knowledge
- Understanding of system architecture
- Expertise in 3D modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and animation.
- Familiarity with real‑time rendering pipelines and optimization.
- Experience building AR/VR applications for devices like Holo Lens, Oculus, Meta Quest, or similar.
- Knowledge of spatial computing, immersive interaction, and motion tracking.
- Proficiency with Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar engines for real‑time interactive experiences.
- Understanding of engine workflows and scripting (C#, C , Blueprints).
- Strong coding skills in C , C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of 3D graphics APIs (OpenGL, Direct
X, Vulkan) is a plus.
- Experience with physics simulations, collision detection, and VR interaction mechanics.
- Optional: haptics, motion capture, or robotics integration experience.
Simulation & Physics
- Experience with physics simulations, collision detection, and VR interaction mechanics.
- Haptics or motion capture integration experience.
- Designing intuitive interactions for AR/VR applications.
- Understanding human factors and ergonomics in immersive environments.
- Profiling and optimizing 3D content for high frame rates across devices.
- Managing resource‑constrained environments (mobile, wearable devices).
- Familiarity with integrating AR/VR applications with real‑time data streams or vehicle telemetry.
- Prior experience with vehicle systems, robotics, or human‑machine interfaces.
Core Technologies & Platforms
- Simulation & Visualization: Vortex Studio, Gazebo, Drake, Applied Intuition – for real‑time physics, robotics, and autonomous vehicle simulations.
- AR/VR Development: Unity, Unreal Engine, motion simulator platforms, GRIP (Global Research Innovation Platform) for immersive driving and research simulations.
- AI & Robotics Integration: Diffusion Policy (robot behavior learning), SLAMcore (AR/VR localization & mapping), ROS for robotics.
- 3D Content Creation & Management: 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and asset pipelines optimized for AR/VR.
- Languages: C , C#, Python, Java Script
- APIs & Frameworks: OpenGL, Vulkan, Direct
X, ROS, Tensor Flow, Py Torch - Version Control: Git/Git Hub
- Develop AR/VR applications and interactive simulations.
- Integrate AI and vehicle/robotics data into immersive experiences.
- Optimize 3D assets and simulations for performance and usability.
