What You Will Do
Are you a counterintelligence professional? Are you interested in joining a dedicated team of counterintelligence professionals helping to safeguard Los Alamos National Laboratory? If you answered "Yes" we invite you to learn more about our opening for a Counterintelligence Officer 4. In this role you will contribute to our mission by:
- Conducting counterintelligence (CI) and counter terrorism investigations and due diligence, and briefing DOE and LANL senior decision‑makers on highly sensitive cases.
- Providing CI expertise to support other investigations.
- Briefing LANL personnel who travel to sensitive countries and debriefing them upon their return.
- Collaborating with our Cyber Counterintelligence Team.
- Generating intelligence reports from strategic debriefings and other activities, and collaborating effectively with other parts of the laboratory and U.S. intelligence community personnel.
- Collaborating with other government agencies when appropriate.
To succeed you will need extensive U.S. intelligence community experience and familiarity with seminal intelligence community policy (e.g., EO 12333, PDD 61). You will also need knowledge of foreign intelligence service methods and non‑traditional foreign intelligence collection. You will need extensive experience in conducting and documenting complex investigations/operations and demonstrated experience giving intelligence briefings to decision makers at all levels. Interpersonal skills required include fostering teamwork, interacting professionally across LANL and with liaison partners, and drawing highly nuanced threat indicators from seemingly casual conversations.
MinimumJob Requirements
- U.S. intelligence community experience and knowledge of policy (EO 12333, PDD 61).
- Experience in conducting and documenting complex investigations/operations.
- Experience giving intelligence briefings to decision makers at all levels.
- Ability to foster teamwork and interact professionally across LANL and with liaison partners.
- Ability to draw highly nuanced threat indicators from seemingly casual conversations.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications- Proven track record in the collection, production, and dissemination of raw intelligence reports.
- Knowledge of national intelligence priority frameworks and systems.
- Prior experience serving as a Collection Management Officer.
- Active Q clearance and SCI accesses preferred, with the ability to obtain those clearances expeditiously upon hire.
