Registered Nurse - PACU$30,000 Signing Bonus, $1000 Monthly Housing Allowance & Relocation Package!

Our 47-bed acute care facility has been providing quality and compassionate emergency care, surgical care, inpatient, and outpatient services to the communities of Northern New Mexico for over 70 years.

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses for our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role plays a crucial part in the recovery of patients after anesthesia and surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety as they regain their strength.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vigilant monitoring and care for patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, closely observing for any complications or side effects.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress and any changes in condition.
  • Communicate effectively with surgical teams about patient status and any concerns.
  • Ensure patients receive proper education and support regarding postoperative care and follow-up procedures.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, following protocols for patient safety.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care that meets the needs of each patient.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing staff, contributing to a supportive team environment.
Essential Qualifications
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Mexico (or compact state license).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • PALS/ENPC (within 6 months of hire)
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with patients and healthcare providers.
Desired Experience
  • Previous experience in a PACU, ICU, or similar recovery area is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage an array of post-operative complications effectively.
