The Role
COMPA Industries is seeking a Field Construction Engineer to support active installation work at Los Alamos National Laboratory's TA-55 facility - one of the nation's most significant nuclear research and infrastructure sites. In this role, you'll serve as a critical link between design, engineering, and field construction teams, ensuring that technical installations are executed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with approved project documentation.

Mandatory Requirements - Must Meet All Three to Be Considered- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 5+ years of construction field experience
- Willingness to work 100% onsite in Los Alamos, NM - no hybrid or remote
- Perform field verifications and oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with project documentation
- Coordinate in real-time between design, engineering, and field crews to resolve emerging issues
- Track material quantities, verify installation work, and prepare accurate field reports
- Support design reviews and assist senior engineers with field implementation
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities
- Serve as a reliable problem‑solving resource for construction teams on the ground
- Working knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret design documents, drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong analytical, coordination, and problem‑solving skills
- Clear communication skills and experience with field reporting
- Bachelor's in Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience on DOE, DOD, or other regulated/high‑security facility projects
- Familiarity with industry standards: ASME, NEC, IBC, NFPA
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, or glovebox systems
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or advanced technical coursework
- Proficiency in MS Office and Teams
