Position: Predictive Maintenance Coordinator (Engineering Technologist 1/2)

What You Will Do

This position will be filled at either the Engineering Technologist 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. The Predictive Maintenance Coordinator reports to the MSS-APT Group Leader and plays a key role in developing, implementing, and maturing PdM programs across multiple organizations and equipment portfolios. While this role includes hands‑on PdM route execution and equipment condition monitoring, the primary focus is program development and deployment.

The selected candidate will work directly with engineering, maintenance, operations, and management stakeholders to establish new or enhanced PdM programs tailored to organizational needs.

PdM Coordinator Engineering Technologist 1 ($87,800 - $143,000)

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in evaluating equipment portfolios to determine PdM applicability and priority.
  • Support development of PdM implementation plans, including scope, timelines, and coordination requirements.
  • Work with engineering, maintenance planners, and supervisors to integrate PdM tasks into existing maintenance strategies.
  • Perform limited PdM route execution and condition monitoring activities (vibration, thermography, ultrasonic, oil analysis, etc.) to support program validation and data collection.
  • Track implementation progress and help remove barriers to execution.
  • Support communication efforts to educate stakeholders on PdM benefits and reliability improvements.
  • Assist in establishing asset hierarchies and ensuring CMMS alignment for PdM integration.
  • Participate in root cause evaluations and help translate findings into preventive or predictive strategies.
PdM Coordinator Engineering Technologist 2 ($96,600 - $158,000)

In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level this position is expected to:

  • Lead cross‑organizational efforts to establish or mature PdM programs.
  • Conduct structured equipment criticality and readiness evaluations to determine appropriate predictive technologies and implementation sequencing.
  • Develop and present PdM business cases and value propositions to management and stakeholders.
  • Define execution strategies, milestones, performance metrics, and sustainment plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, planning, maintenance, and management resources to ensure successful implementation.
  • Drive accountability and follow‑through to ensure programs move from concept to operational reality.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and recommend adjustments to maintenance strategies.
  • Facilitate alignment between reliability objectives and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a program advocate and technical resource for PdM methodologies.
  • Provide limited hands‑on diagnostic support where necessary to validate data or demonstrate program capability.
What You Need
Minimum

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge & Expertise: General mechanical, electrical, or technical aptitude. Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles. Experience working across organizational boundaries to align stakeholders and drive execution.
  • Maintenance Operations: Demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating maintenance, reliability, or operational improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects or programs to completion.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including leadership and craft personnel. Ability to influence and build consensus without direct supervisory authority.
  • Technology: Familiarity with CMMS systems and asset data management. Proficiency with standard computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Additional Requirements for Engineering Technologist 2:
  • Knowledge & Expertise: Experience leading or independently driving program‑level initiatives. Understanding of relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
