Work Control Planner 3 Duration: 2 years (with possibility of extension/conversion)

Los Alamos, NM - 100% Onsite Position Summary
Hukari Ascendent is seeking an experienced Work Control Planner 3 to join the CONSERV (HS320C) organization at Los Alamos National Laboratory. This position focuses on construction work planning with some maintenance responsibilities, requiring collaboration with a team of 8 planners and various superintendents. The successful candidate will develop and review work packages, conduct site walk downs, and manage Integrated Work Documents (IWDs).
This role requires the ability to obtain Q-clearance and involves working in a secure area with unescorted access.
Primary Responsibilities
Develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, construction, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area
Conducts site walk downs across different laboratory properties to assess work requirements and conditions
Manages Integrated Work Documents (IWDs) and Facility Status Reports (FSRs)
Interprets and works with various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Collaborates with superintendents and a team of 8 planners to coordinate work activities
Resolves work restraints and brings work packages to final closure
Planning duties related to mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience, OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience (post-graduate coursework is desirable)
Technical Knowledge & Expertise
Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures
Experience interpreting various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Previous experience in mechanical, civil, or radiological engineering
Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning
Knowledge of work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures
Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning to both technical and non-technical personnel
Planning & Prioritization
Working knowledge of and experience with work control, materials management, construction and/or various maintenance disciplines
Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting work control and planning
Technology
Proficiency with Microsoft Word (required)
Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work planning activities
Experience with Asset Suite for developing work orders
Working experience and/or knowledge with Mobile Work Package (MWP)
Skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports
Clearance Requirements
Must be able to obtain Q-clearance
Ability to obtain A-Level Access
Must pass background investigation
Will work in a secure area requiring unescorted access
Preferred Qualifications
Background in nuclear, chemical, or oil industry
Strong background in construction/infrastructure work
Experience with DOE or national laboratory facilities
Familiarity with federal facility work control processes
Additional Information
Work Schedule:
9/80 or 4-10s schedule (planners currently working 4-10s)
Potential for overtime work
Government vehicles available for site walk downs
Per diem available for qualified candidates
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to conduct site walk downs across laboratory properties
No travel required beyond local laboratory sites
