Water Systems Superintendent
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Water Systems Superintendent, inspects, tests, repairs, and maintains electrical equipment in generating stations, substations, in-service relays, existing high voltage motor control centers, electrical controls, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) remote terminal units (RTU) at wastewater treatment plants and lift stations, and water production, transmission and storage sites. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five years’ experience in repair, construction, and maintenance of water, electrical, or wastewater system electrical controls, MCCs and large electric motors, which must include water or wastewater systems electrical equipment.
- Must possess and maintain New Mexico Journeyman’s Electricians License, or equivalent from another jurisdiction. If certified in another jurisdiction, must receive New Mexico Journeyman’s Electricians License certification within six months of employment.
- Must possess or have ability to obtain within 30 days of employment and must maintain a valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license.
- Successful completion of the pre-employment physical exam prior to commencing work.
- Must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain an uncleared DOE badge for access to LANL.
- Familiarity with the Los Alamos Water Production System.
- Operator certification in water or wastewater through the New Mexico Water Quality Control Commission.
- Familiarity with DOE, NNSA rules and procedures as utilized at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
- Familiarity with water and/or wastewater treatment plant SCADA system operations.
