Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Construction Engineer 1 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM.
- Pay: $40/hr - $47/hr
- Location:
100% Onsite – Los Alamos, NM (TA-55) - Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET‑accredited) or equivalent field experience
- Must be available for 100% onsite work (no hybrid or remote options)
As a Construction Engineer 1, you’ll play an essential supporting role in LANL’s infrastructure and nuclear facility installation projects. You’ll work directly with senior engineers to execute construction oversight and ensure alignment with technical and safety requirements supporting national security missions.
Responsibilities And Duties- Support field construction activities through inspections, documentation, and reporting
- Apply standard engineering techniques and established processes to project execution
- Verify work conforms with approved drawings, standards, and specifications
- Support problem‑solving efforts with field teams and design engineers
- Participate in safety and quality meetings; assist with material verification and status tracking
- Understanding of basic engineering and construction principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
- Exposure to DOE or DOD projects
- Knowledge of codes and standards such as ASME, NEC, and IBC
- Experience in construction, facility systems, or mechanical/electrical work
- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field - Desired: 1–2 years of practical engineering or construction experience
