What You Will Do
Join the Essential Balance of Plant Systems Group (PFE-EBP) within the Plutonium Facilities Engineering Division, where your work will directly support the day-to-day operations of the Plutonium Facility-critical to our National Defense mission.
As a Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of assigned systems, ensuring they operate at peak performance. You'll monitor system health, lead troubleshooting efforts, and collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, and other engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
Our group manages approximately 40 mechanical systems, including cryogenic systems, compressed gases, vacuum systems, circulating water, chemical supply, and more. This is a dynamic, hands-on engineering role ideal for those who enjoy being in the field, walking down systems, and staying closely connected to their operation and maintenance. If you're a proactive, detail-oriented engineer who thrives on real-world impact and technical challenges, we want to hear from you!
Nuclear Facilities Engineer 3 ($125,200 - $211,300)
As a Level 3 Mechanical Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for overseeing the performance and maintenance of critical systems-such as cryogenics, vacuum, and gas distribution-while driving system improvements through data analysis, design modifications, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll lead troubleshooting efforts, and contribute to long-term system strategy in support of national security objectives.
Nuclear Facilities Engineer 4 ($150,300 - $260,800)
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level you will be expected to work independently, act as lead to other engineers and groups, provide mentoring to less-experienced peers and colleagues, and bring expert-level technical expertise to the group
What You Need
Minimum
