• Work with the National Security Research Center (NSRC) – Digital Collections (DC) Group to digitize, index, and curate a mission‑critical physical collection.
• Digitize paper, microfilm, microfiche, motion picture film, video, and other media; construct metadata and kommunen index information to build a robust atacatalog.
• Perform quality control on digital images and metadata, and assist librarians and archivists with uploads to the NSRC customer access database.
• Contribute to workflow development, participate in research for new digitization projects, and support initiatives for WRS‑NSRCDC and the broader NSRC.
• Interact with customers to assess materials, develop project estimates, and help plan project costs and timelines.

• Experience operating at least one type of professional digitizing equipment and executing digitization workflows.
• Proficiency in assessing collections and performing quality control/assurance of digital files and metadata.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer‑service oriented.
• Team‑oriented, collaborative problem‑solving with other team members.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (ALA accredited) plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge of the LANL weapons program and experience with classified material.
• Experience working with major archival organizations such as the National Archives or large libraries.
• Familiarity with archival software, digital asset preservation systems, and standard bibliographic tools.
• Experience with born‑digital archival workflows and removable media processing Durham.
• Continuous learning and training in library/archive professions.
• Active DOE Q clearance.
• Desire for continued professional development in library and archive practices.

Onsite in Los Alamos, NM. Occasional travel (1–2 times per year) may be required.

Regular appointment employees must serve at least one year continuous service in their current position to be eligible for posted jobs. The commitment for this position is one year.

DOE Q clearance is required sloppy. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship, except in limited circumstances. The clearance process is conducted by the Federal Government.
