AboutThe Role
COMPA Industries is seeking a Senior Construction Operations Manager to provide senior-level leadership and oversight for construction activities and operational deliverables within a Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 2 radiological facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In this role, you'll be responsible for end-to-end construction project success - ensuring quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and on-schedule delivery for complex projects that directly support the DOE mission.
This is a leadership role with real authority and broad responsibility. You'll oversee workers, subcontractors, budgets, and documentation while driving consistent application of construction engineering standards across multiple concurrent projects. Mandatory Requirements - Must Meet All to Be Considered- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
- 15+ years of experience in the construction field
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience supporting the DOE mission
- Professional and safety certifications relevant to construction within the DOE and nuclear complex
- Provide senior oversight of construction activities and operational deliverables, ensuring quality, accuracy, efficiency, and successful completion
- Ensure all work is performed safely and on schedule within a Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 2 radiological facility
- Maintain full compliance with Laboratory policies and applicable DOE regulatory requirements
- Organize and oversee construction and field controls operations across multiple project groups
- Coordinate across groups to ensure proper staffing, technical compliance, and execution
- Manage budgets and provide direct oversight of workers and subcontractors
- Ensure consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices across all projects
- Identify documentation gaps and develop documentation to address them
- Install and improve processes to enhance operational efficiency and compliance
- Oversee quality control and assurance activities; manage complex technical issues in alignment with NQA-1 standards
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, customers, and project teams at all levels
- 15+ years of experience in the construction field
- 5+ years of direct experience supporting DOE mission activities
- Professional and safety certifications relevant to DOE and nuclear complex construction
- Demonstrated experience supporting construction in regulated environments
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance
- Prior DOE experience managing complex construction projects
- Experience in work control settings aligned with quality control and assurance (NQA-1)
- Qualifications as an Electrical Field Work Supervisor, Field Work Supervisor, and/or Responsible (Line) Manager
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and 15+ years of relevant construction experience will be considered
