Location:
Lorton VA, 22079
Duration: 3 Months (Potential Extension)
Shift Timing:
Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Position Overview
- We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Materials Handler to support warehouse and inventory operations.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in materials handling, inventory management, and administrative support while working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy in inventory control, and the ability to work independently while supporting multiple departments.
- Stock, organize, and distribute materials and supplies to various departments as required.
- Pull and process sales orders and work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Read and interpret work orders, pick lists, and verbal instructions to complete tasks.
- Verify incoming inventory and shipments to ensure accuracy against packing lists and bills of lading.
- Conduct routine inventory counts and perform adjustments when discrepancies are identified.
- Audit queue reports and maintain accurate inventory records within systems.
- Restock inventory racks and maintain organized storage areas.
- Prepare materials and parts for outside processing and production use.
- Package parts kits, label products properly, and prepare shipments for delivery.
- Assemble shipping boxes and build standard-sized crates for outgoing shipments.
- Operate counting scales and basic warehouse equipment as needed.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and warehouse procedures.
- 1-2 years of experience in materials handling, warehouse operations, or inventory control.
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and inventory records.
- Experience with inventory counts, order picking, and shipment verification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical warehouse tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Experience in inventory management systems or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Experience supporting shipping, receiving, and logistics operations.
