Position Summary (Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic)

Join our Team as a DIESEL TECHNICIAN

We are in search of entry to master level equipment diesel technicians/mechanics to join our team. Candidates must be able to work on various makes and models of diesel trucks and buses. We have mobile and shop positions ready to be filled with passionate team members. The right people have a strong work ethic, are eager to learn, love to work as a team, and have a passion for pleasing the customer.

Requirements:
  • Observes and listens to trucks and/or buses in operation to determine malfunctions.
  • Complete PM’s and troubleshoot issues on all operating systems on trucks and buses.
  • Read manuals and use hand tools and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance to electrical systems, power transmissions, brakes, drive lines, and other automotive systems.
  • Remove and replace parts for repair in allotted time frame.
  • Perform accurate service data entry on all services performed.
  • Operate mobile equipment as needed.
  • Receive and deliver technical advice to drivers and other operators as needed.
  • Maintain parts inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Make service calls at other locations or perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Communicate/direct co-workers through hand signals and two-way radio.
  • Perform general clean-up of work areas.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures as written.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Minimum

    Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years Heavy Automotive Equipment Maintenance Experience.
  • Trade School or related mechanical/technical certification preferred.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) and safe driving record is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, power transmissions, brakes, drive lines, and other automotive systems.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • 40 hours per week and overtime on an as-needed basis.
