Procurement SpecialistThe Procurement Specialist will assist in a full range of procurement services that include procurement, managing purchases, and supporting the department to ensure continuous improvement to processes and ensure purchasing policies and procedures are implemented.
Responsibilities- Interface with vendors, SBU, and subsidiary operations.
- Prepare and process purchase orders for supplies and equipment, ensuring thorough and complete purchase and inventory records of all purchased goods and services in accordance with purchasing policy.
- Develop and maintain a strong partnership with key vendors.
- Negotiate prices, terms, schedules, and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts.
- Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies, including receipt of all required requisitions with approvals.
- Evaluate and facilitate negotiations for terms and conditions for purchases in a timely manner.
- Research and resolve purchasing issues, disputes, terms/conditions, etc.
- Initiate and execute purchase order closeout.
- Maintain the Procurement sites in Chenega Share and the buyer’s files in Pro Docs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 5+ years of relevant procurement work experience.
- Business, logistics, and accounting structure experience are strongly desired.
- Experience with CONUS and OCONUS construction procurements is a plus.
- Background check required.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess strong skills in organizing and managing time across multiple time zones, tasks, and customer needs.
- Must have the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Knowledge of government acquisition laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of the federal government contracting environment, FAR, and Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR).
- Must have advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Must have working knowledge of Costpoint.
