Job Overview

GHR Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Lorain, Ohio. This role is a Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights assignment on a 12‑hour night shift at a leading healthcare facility located at a 32‑bed Med/Surg – Oncology unit.

  • Schedule: Nights (12‑hour shifts)

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890/week (final pay package may vary)
Requirements
  • RN

    Experience:

    Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (oncology experience preferred)
  • License: Active registered nurse license (state license or NLC, as applicable)
  • Certifications: BLS (preferred upon hire), NIH Stroke Certification/NIHSS (required)
  • Assessment: Dysrhythmia exam required
  • Clinical

    Skills:

    IV starts, medication administration, CVC line draws, comfort with common inpatient equipment
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high‑quality inpatient nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Complete and document comprehensive patient assessments and maintain individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and therapies safely in accordance with RN scope of practice and facility policies.
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Support discharge planning by establishing goals and strategies aligned with patient needs and available resources.
  • Deliver patient and family education tailored to learning needs, culture, and health literacy.
  • Promote patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Use unit equipment as needed (Alaris pumps, epidural/PCA pumps, wound vacs, high‑flow O₂, Hoyer/Arjo equipment, kangaroo pumps).
