This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in operating room procedures, with a focus on cardiac surgery. Working under the direction of the attending surgeon, this role involves assisting in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other technical intraoperative functions to support safe and effective surgical outcomes. The position includes preoperative and postoperative responsibilities to ensure comprehensive perioperative care for cardiac surgery patients.

Primary duties involve second assisting in cardiac surgical cases and participating in regional on-call coverage to support the cardiac surgery program across the healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons intraoperatively with exposure, hemostasis, and closure
• Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care to optimize surgical outcomes
• Act as second assistant during cardiac surgical procedures
• Participate in regional call rotation to support cardiac surgery services
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team to facilitate a safe and efficient operating room environment

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) license with current credentials
• Proven experience in an operating room, preferably with cardiac surgery
• Strong knowledge of intraoperative techniques and perioperative nursing care
