Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 OB unit, requiring flexibility between L&D and Mother Baby with night shift availability.
Responsibilities- Work in an LDRP unit with 18 LDRP beds, 4 triage beds, and 2 ORs
- Level 1 OB unit within a hospital that has a Level 1 Nursery
- Patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
- Ancillary support includes unit secretaries, OB techs, and LPNs (based on census and availability)
- Unit averages 60–65 deliveries per month (~650/year)
- 24/7 in-house OB/GYN and CRNA coverage; neonatal nurse practitioners provide pediatric coverage
- Responsibilities include circulating and recovering C-sections; ability to scrub is a plus but not required
- Charting via Epic;
Obix used for tracings; GE monitors used for fetal monitoring - 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend (EOW), and every other holiday (EOH)
- Must be able to flex between Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby
- Scrubs are provided on the unit
- Provides woman-, newborn-, and family-centered care across inpatient and outpatient obstetrical settings
- Care responsibilities span pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and neonatal care through discharge, including triage, stabilization, and emergency management
- A pass/fail EKG exam is required on the first day, with two attempts allowed; a study guide will be provided
- Local candidates are accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies and determines the applicable pay rate
- Manager interview required prior to offer
- Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required (must obtain within 6 months if not current upon hire)
- ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Recent OB, ED, or critical care experience preferred
- Epic experience preferred
- Proof of address required (acceptable documents include a Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Income Tax return, Military Form No. 2058, or a W2 from the US government)
- Full SSN and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration
- 1 supervisory reference required
- Nursys license verification required
- Copy of all certifications required
