Position Overview
Seeking an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity inpatient unit. This role requires strong critical care skills and the ability to manage complex patients independently on night shift.
Position Details
- ICU RN
- Travel candidates only (local candidates not accepted)
- Dysrhythmia exam required
- Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience
- Ventilator management and pressor titration required
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIH - Schedule:
12-hour nights
Unit Details
- 16-bed ICU
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3
- Patient population includes septic shock, EtOH withdrawal, post-MI, COPD exacerbations, and post-abdominal surgery
- Support staff: 1–2 unit secretaries house-wide
- Hospitalist in-house; intensivist on-call
Strong critical thinking, comfort with high-acuity patients, and the ability to function autonomously on nights are essential for success in this role.
