• Location: Lorain, Ohio (zip 44053) – Northeast Ohio healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown – 33 beds
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 2/28/2026)
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 days, 1:5-6 nights (acuity dependent)
• Patient Population: Cardiac Telemetry, Vascular, Med-Surg, Post Cath, Post Pacemakers
• Ancillary Support: 1-3 PCAs, unit secretary, phlebotomy available
• Scrubs: Navy blue

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (required for Ohio nursing jobs)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (required)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (required)
• Dysrhythmia Exam (required; study guide available)
• Travel nursing experience not required
• EPIC EHR experience (preferred)
• Critical Care Course, CCRN, or PCCN certification (preferred for PCU nurse jobs)

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, Insulin)
• Monitor and manage lines, drains, and devices (PICC, dialysis catheters, PEG tubes, ostomies, foleys, chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs)
• Provide advanced airway management (Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, Heated High Flow, nasal cannulas)
• Read and verify telemetry strips per shift using EPIC EHR
• Serve as a patient safety advocate and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families, coordinate care, and support coping with illness or injury
• Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions and medical emergencies
• Maintain professionalism, self-care, privacy, and infection control standards
