Key Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt paver equipment to lay asphalt to specific depth, width,and grade.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure smooth, even, and consistent pavement.
- Coordinate with the paving crew, including screed operators, laborers, and truck drivers, to maintain continuous material flow.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and cleaning to ensure safe operation.
- Identify and communicate any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors and shop manager.
- Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Ensure all work meets quality control standards and athletic governing body guidelines.
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and jobsite preparation as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and jobsite protocols.
- Support the crew with additional tasks during downtime or when equipment is not in use.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of experience operating paving equipment (asphalt paver, roller, skid steer, etc.).
- Knowledge of grading, compaction, and drainage principles.
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and layout measurements.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Experience with sports court or track surfacing preferred.
- Familiarity with laser grading systems.
- Understanding of court and track dimension standards.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and kneeling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions.
