Key Responsibilities
- Operate and adjust the asphalt paver screed (screw) to control material flow, depth, and crown.
- Monitor asphalt distribution to maintain consistent grade, slope, and surface texture.
- Work closely with the paver operator and foreman to ensure proper alignment and surface quality.
- Check and maintain proper temperature and material consistency throughout paving operations.
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance on screed components and related equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite protocols.
- Assist with site preparation, traffic control, and general labor duties as needed.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or safety concerns immediately.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in asphalt paving or road construction preferred.
- Knowledge of asphalt paving equipment, especially screed/screw operations.
- Knowledge in Asphalt Raking/Shovel/Handtamp/Walk behind Tamp.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a coordinated crew.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and high-heat environments.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and kneeling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions.
