Linux Systems Engineer – Bilingual Spanish

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in Longwood, FL that is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Linux Systems Engineer.

The Linux Systems Engineer will support global oil and gas businesses by providing advanced application and technical support for highly customized software solutions. This role is focused on driving user satisfaction, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing solutions both onsite and remotely. The Engineer will act as a trusted advisor, educating customers on best practices and system functionality to improve operational efficiency and minimize downtime.

• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for enterprise software products, including Linux environments, databases (MySQL, Maria
  
  DB), and networking topology
• Lead onsite and remote implementations of customized solutions;
  Travel up to 70% in peak months (average 50% annually), including South America and Canada
• Consult with clients to understand operational needs, objectives, and requirements
• Advise on system architecture, software configuration, and operational best practices
• Train end users and ensure thorough documentation in the knowledge base
• Identify software defects, collaborate with development teams, and deploy fixes
• Ensure customer operations run efficiently with minimal downtime and financial impact

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
• Red Hat and database certifications are a plus
• Valid driver’s license required
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
• Fluent in Spanish (bilingual required)
• Comfortable with extensive travel (up to 70% in a month, average 50% annually)
• Experience supporting software (not just hardware)
• Proficient in troubleshooting complex issues in Linux environments
• Skilled at resolving non-cookie-cutter problems that require research and persistence
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical support role
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Resourceful, adaptable, and detail-oriented

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
