Apply for the Mechanical Estimator role at Comprehensive Energy Services, Inc. We are recruiting an experienced estimator to support our Pre‑Construction department.

- Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Attend pre‑bid meetings and review all bid documents.
- Prepare material take‑offs and estimates for plumbing and mechanical (wet & dry side).
- Review sub‑contractor and vendor quotes for scope and pricing.
- Produce budget and conceptual estimates with limited information.
- Participate in post‑bid scope meetings with clients.
- Attend turnover meetings for awarded projects and package the estimate file for operations.
- Consult with other departments to formulate estimates.
- Mentor personnel within the department.
- Demonstrate high understanding of project scope, cost, labor, time, and profit.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Lead the estimating team on assigned projects.
- Review estimates and take‑offs of other estimators.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
- Bachelor of Science, or High School Diploma with 8 years estimating experience, or High School Diploma with 10 years trade‑related experience.
- A valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
- Experience in two or more mechanical/plumbing trades (HVAC duct, HVAC piping, plumbing).
- Familiarity with specialized systems (e.g., Med gas, steam, compressed air, waste/vent, hydronics, duct classifications).
- Strong skill in developing estimated project scope and cost.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, take‑off software, and basic computer operations.
- Ability to recognize risk and qualify proposals.
- Detail‑oriented and focused on eliminating errors or omissions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Meet time schedules, deadlines, and plan and organize work.
- Work confidently and independently with little direction.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Have great attention to detail and be well organized.
- Be comfortable working with numbers and technology.
- Multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
