Senior Corporate Accountant

Overview

The Senior Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the company’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities, and assist with special projects and analysis.

• Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and send reporting to Divisional Leadership.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile key accounts such as Payroll, Payroll liabilities, Accrued Expenses, Prepaid Inventory, ASC 842 (Leases), Fixed Assets, and Intangible Assets; support additional corporate reconciliations as requested.
• Maintain accurate account records and audit documentation; lead the Client Assistance Listing for assigned areas.
• Review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance; verify corporate charges are properly allocated in Division Financial Statements.
• File required tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies; oversee licensing work with consultants.
• Participate in Corporate and Divisional AOP processes.
• Identify and resolve transactional errors in the ERP system; implement consistent best‑practice procedures within key processes.
• Assist with the transition of newly acquired entities into accounting systems and processes.
• Lead special projects designed to improve the operations and efficiency of the accounting process.
• Participate in due diligence and M&A activity; ensure smooth transition of Balance Sheet accounts to the company financials.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience; public accounting and/or construction experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills; ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Sage 100 or Sage 300 preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
• Regularly required to talk and hear; fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
• Ability to fulfill all office activities normally expected in an office setting, including remaining seated for prolonged periods and performing computer entry.
