Community Inclusion Specialist - Full-Time

Salary Range: $20.30 To $20.91 Hourly

Life Works is looking for a Community Inclusion Specialist to provide opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop, plan & participate in activities in the community. This position requires an enthusiastic and creative individual who supports program participants.

• Build relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries
• Communicate effectively with a diverse population
• Write clear and concise progress notes
• Research local, free or low‑cost activities and assist participants in signing up
• Read and understand individualized plans and protocols for participants
• Support participants in activities and service participation
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet program goals
• Manage your own schedule and communicate any issues or concerns regarding services
• Respond to a fluid environment and make quick, appropriate decisions
• Work evenings and weekends as needed to meet client activity schedules

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• At least 18 years of age
• Pass a department background check, including FBI fingerprint check
• Pass a pre‑employment drug screen (does NOT include THC)
• Ability to squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift at least 50 pounds (or ¼ body weight) and perform CPR and non‑physical or physical interventions when needed
• Strong work ethic, punctuality and flexibility
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Dependable, confident, creative and adaptable
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a PLUS

• Employees working 30+ hours per week are eligible to choose from two medical plan options once eligibility requirements are met

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with some evenings and weekends due to client activities. 40 hours per week.
