Security Guard - Nights

Job Summary

Ensure the safety and security of people, property, and assets at the assigned location. Responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring for potential threats, responding to emergencies, and enforcing rules and regulations.

• Patrol premises, both on foot and using security vehicles, to deter and detect any unauthorized activity.
• Use various surveillance tools, such as cameras and monitoring systems, to keep an eye on activities within the facility.
• Identify suspicious behavior, potential threats, and violations of security protocols and recommend improvements to enhance security measures.
• Check identification, search bags, and ensure that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas to prevent potential security threats.
• Respond to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, and security breaches and coordinate with other agencies during critical situations.
• Use de‑escalation techniques to defuse tense situations and maintain a safe environment.
• Document incidents, suspicious activities, and other relevant information in detailed reports.
• Respond to alarms triggered by security systems, investigate the cause, and take appropriate actions.
• Provide customer service by assisting visitors, giving directions, and providing information about the facility’s rules and regulations.
• Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
• Escort individuals off premises when necessary.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2+ years of previous experience preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Works effectively in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to work with law enforcement agencies as necessary.
• Basic experience in Microsoft Office products.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods.
• Requires working in seasonal hot and cold temperatures and exposure to dust and chemical fumes.
