Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Longview, TX, requiring active TX or compact RN licensure and a full suite of emergency certifications.
Responsibilities- Emergency Care Center (ECC) in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- 3x12-hour shifts per week
- 13-week contract
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed for both general organizational and ED-specific requirements
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position
- Active RN license in TX or via compact agreement
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
- Current TNCC certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency department nursing
- BSN preferred
- SS Card required for consideration — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Current certifications must not be expired at time of submission
