Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Longview, TX, requiring active TX or compact RN licensure and a full suite of emergency certifications.

• Emergency Care Center (ECC) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 13-week contract
• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed for both general organizational and ED-specific requirements
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates — local candidates are not accepted on this position

• Active RN license in TX or via compact agreement
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only)
• Current TNCC certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in emergency department nursing
• BSN preferred
• SS Card required for consideration — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Current certifications must not be expired at time of submission
