Plant Manager – OCTG Operations
📍Greater Longview area
💼 Full-time | 2-Year Commitment Required | $150K–$200K Total Compensation + Housing Allowance
A leader and respected name in the OCTG industry, is seeking a mid‑career, hands‑on Plant Manager to lead its East Texas facility. This is a high‑impact leadership role on a 42‑acre site with operations spanning steel pipe heat treatment, NDT inspection, pipe threading, and end‑finishing.
The ideal candidate is a mechanically minded, operations‑focused leader with strong financial acumen and proven ability to manage budgets, CAPEX projects, and plant throughput. Candidates must be willing to permanently relocate to East Texas and embrace the community and team culture.
What You’ll Do- Oversee all plant operations for steel OCTG casing (API 5CT Q1), including heat treatment, NDT inspection, and end‑finishing
- Lead and develop a team of 65–85 employees, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and quality
- Manage P&L, budgets, and CAPEX projects; report to multi‑facility leadership
- Provide hands‑on leadership with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
- Maintain direct engagement on the plant floor—troubleshoot issues, streamline processes, and reinforce a culture of accountability
- 10+ years of plant or industrial operations experience, preferably with steel, tubular goods, or related manufacturing
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical systems knowledge
- Experience in budgeting, P&L, and CAPEX project management
- Hands‑on leadership style with presence on the floor
- Commitment to permanent relocation and integrating into the local community
- Strong organizational skills, process improvement mindset, and dedication to a “hometown, family‑owned” culture
- Lead a core OCTG operation on a large, 42‑acre site with visible impact
