The Regulatory Affairs Waste SME is responsible for overseeing compliance with the RCRA regulations across TXO. The Waste SME must maintain a comprehensive understanding of the State and Federal RCRA regulations and ensure the site’s RCRA permit is thorough and accurate.
Waste SME
Responsibilities Include:
• Bachelor of Science degree in geology, civil, chemical or environmental engineering or equivalent technical degree
• Five years exempt level experience in environmental assignment (manufacturing setting is preferred)
• Demonstrated knowledge in environmental regulations
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
• Proven ability to timely implement and execute established plans and procedures
• Basic computer aptitude (database use, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation preparation)
• Ability to think critically and “outside the box” to identify creative solutions
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact and influence all levels within the company
• Ability to simplify complex material or situations
• Flexible to adapt to changing priorities quickly and effectively
• Good organization skills and ability to find practical solutions to environmental issues
• Good negotiating skills
• Strong leadership skills
