What You'll Be Doing
** Job Scope:
** We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in industrial power distribution to support Plant Engineering Services in a chemical manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electrical power delivery across all plant systems, including high-demand process equipment, safety systems, and environmental controls.
** Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
*** Support capital projects from and plant expansions with electrical design and commissioning expertise.
* Collaborate with discipline engineers, maintenance teams, and operations specialists to support projects.
* Design, maintain, and optimize medium and low-voltage power distribution systems tailored to chemical processing operations.
* Develop , Review,  and Approve all electrical deliverables.
* Specify electrical infrastructure including transformers, switch gear, MCCs, VFDs, UPS systems, and related equipment.
* Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and OSHA standards, as well as chemical industry-specific safety protocols.
* Develop and maintain electrical documentation including single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
* Review and verify vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for electrical/instrumentation input.
* Contribute to establishing and revising electrical area classifications
* Ensure equipment meets the requirements of the hazardous area designation.
* Planning and organizing their work.
* Communicating the plan to the project leadership team and the client.
* Validating project and construction estimates at the beginning of a project and then tracking changes as the project progresses.
* Producing engineering project scopes in accordance with the department standards for project deliverables, project studies and estimates, change notices and for the development of new work through proposal efforts.
* Producing project scopes and designs utilizing principles of efficiency, optimization, and safety.
* Producing bid packages enabling electrical/instrumentation purchase inquiries to be issued for procurement of materials or subcontract pricing.
* Producing construction specifications.
* Producing detail design packages including calculations and sketches for materials of construction, neatly prepared and organized for checking and handoff to others.
* Initiating timely change notices when scope change affects schedule, deliverables or cost.
* Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks at hand.
* Maintaining project quality standards, cost discipline, and schedule adherence throughout the project.
* Understanding and utilizing the project tools that are in place for project control.
* Delegating work to engineers and designers in proportion to their technical skills and experience and providing support to ensure efficient progress and quality.
* Utilizing and following department design and drafting standards.
* Reviewing and verifying calculations made by other engineers to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria and conformance to good engineering practice.
