Overview
Tesla Collision is seeking an energetic professional with a proven record of accomplishment of managing people and processes to work on one of the most progressive vehicle brands in the world. The Associate Collision Manager is the leader of our collision shop floor teams. In this role, you will be responsible for leading an engaged team while delivering an impeccable service experience through driving excellent results and delivering operational efficiency in our collision centers.
This position requires a clear understanding of production systems and collision shop workflow, utilizing critical thought processes and root cause analysis.
- Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned shift to meet quality and facility goals. Maintain shop records and inventories. Manage the flow of work through the facility
- Act as the process leader for assigned shift. Define and improve work standards with input from technicians and the team. Lead, coach, and develop a highly engaged team
- Ensure work standards are current and accurate. Monitor employees to ensure they follow safety regulations and the collision center's safety program
- Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel issues. Schedule staff to meet facility needs and allow for vacations and time off according to company policies
- Select team members and ensure they receive required training. Hold regular one-on-one development meetings to support their professional growth and career advancement. Monitor training needs for the team and individuals, and coordinate training with training team resources as needed
- Provide effective daily communication to align all team members on goals. Share any issues that affect the facility or the overall organization
- Partner with the Collision Manager to scale and grow shop production to meet company targets, and work collaboratively with key partners. Perform other duties as assigned by the Collision Manager to support the business
- 1-5+ years of experience leading a collision center, refurbishment center, service center, or similar operation
- 5-10+ years of collision technical experience or aptitude preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity. Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, set and achieve goals, lead group root-cause problem-solving, and develop quick countermeasures
- Able to interact effectively with customers as needed
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and understanding of repair estimates
- Valid driver's license preferred
