Mechanical Technical Director

Director of Mechanical Engineering – Stantec Buildings Group

We are offering an excellent opportunity as Director of Mechanical Engineering at our offices in Laval, Montreal, or Longueuil. You will play a key role in our mission to develop sustainable communities, manage and design mechanical systems for projects across Quebec and internationally in institutional, industrial, commercial, and transportation settings.

You will be responsible for the study, design, and management of mechanical engineering projects, including plumbing, ventilation, and other complex mechanical systems. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, communicate a clear vision, inspire commitment, mentor and share knowledge, and continuously improve design processes.

• Over 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including institutional projects in plumbing, ventilation, and other complex mechanical systems.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Strong communication skills – ability to articulate a clear vision, inspire, and gain high level commitment within the team.
• Strong interest in mentoring and knowledge sharing, with an aptitude for guiding and developing the skills of team members.
• Expertise in mechanical design and ability to improve design processes.
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement of practices.

• Regular full‑time position: 37.5 hours/week.
