Strategic Category Manager - CAPEX

At our facility in St-Hubert you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise as the Strategic Category Manager - CAPEX:

Develop sourcing strategies by commodity and category

Monitor market trends and conduct benchmarking analyses

Advise business partners and lead vendor selection committees

Draft RFPs and manage the full procurement lifecycle

Negotiate, implement, and manage commercial agreements

Qualify suppliers and monitor their performance (including SLA compliance)

Maintain a strong supplier network and share procurement best practices

Manage procurement activities related to capital investment projects (CAPEX), including supplier selection for equipment and services

Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical requirements and oversee delivery and installation follow‑ups

Ensure suppliers meet Cascades’ customer requirements

  • Hold 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role, including sourcing strategy and CAPEX procurement
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or significant experience in procurement management (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently and simultaneously
  • Display strong political acumen and interpersonal skills
  • Adopt a customer‑focused approach and communicate with ease
  • Build strong relationships with diverse teams at all organizational levels
  • Be fluent in both French and English to interact effectively with our units and partners in Québec, English‑speaking provinces, and the United States
