This is a term limited position ending December 31, 2027.

Definition:
Perform all project management functions in the planning, design, implementation, and
management of municipal technology projects, including software selection, contracting, and
implementations; IT infrastructure upgrades; digital transformation initiatives; and technology
integration projects. This term limited position will specifically facilitate the implementation of
Salesforce infrastructure and applications.
Principal Duties:

• Serve as project manager on technology implementation projects. Assume responsibility
for project quality, scheduling, and project finances. Provide direction to project team
members.

• Create and execute project and program work plans and revise as appropriate to meet
changing needs and requirements.

• Monitor vendor and staff interactions for technology misunderstandings, communication
barriers, misalignment of technology and business need, and other challenges.

• Create and manage Risk Register with support of Project Coordinator.

• Proactively identify project connections with other efforts across the city and engage
stakeholders to ensure alignment. Monitor project for new connections that arise as part
of the work.

• Coordinate stakeholder communication and engagement in collaboration with
Salesforce Product Owner, Portfolio Manager, Project Coordinator, Technology Change
& Adoption Specialist and other staff as needed.

• Identify resources needed and make recommendations for project team assignments,
watching for capacity and timeline dependencies

• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of technology projects and scope.

• Oversee the development of technical requirements, system configurations, integration
specifications, and implementation schedules for technology projects. As the
incumbent's development and analytical skills and knowledge advance, the degree of
project complexity should increase.

• Supervise and direct user acceptance testing and deployment activities.

• Coordinate training materials development and delivery, and user support handoffs in
collaboration with the Technology Change & Adoption Specialist and other training
support staff.

• Develop and review RFPs and RFIs; coordinate selection of, and supervise technology
vendors, consultants, and implementation partners for the development of technical
solutions, system integrations, and process improvements.

• Review technical documentation, system designs, and configuration specifications
prepared by vendors and consultants and match against business needs and
organizational requirements.

• With the Technical Change & Adoption Specialist and Project Coordinator, conduct
stakeholder engagement activities, including organizing focus groups, facilitating
departmental presentations, gathering feedback, and supporting the identification and
development of technology champions.

• Prepare and review technical requirements, user stories, and cost estimates for diverse
technology and digital transformation projects.

• Prepare periodic project status reports, including budgets. Provide performance and task
analysis required to complete projects.

• Respond to and resolve user concerns and issues regarding technology implementations.
Acts as a representative of the City in resolution of issues.

• Coordinate and negotiate technology implementation activities with other City divisions
and departments, vendor delivery schedules, and outside agencies.
