The Personal Care Provider provides unskilled personal care and household services for clients in their homes. This role serves as a companion, ensuring clients’ spaces are clean, safe, and organized.

• Observe and maintain a safe home environment.
• Assist with household chores including cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.
• Assist clients with shopping, appointments, and other errands.
• Provide companionship and engage in social interaction and meaningful conversations.
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks (bathing, hair care, mouth care, dressing) when appropriate.
• Maintain timely service records of home visits.
• Attend care conferences, staff meetings, and agency committee meetings.

• Strong interpersonal skills beneficial for interaction with clients, families, and staff.
• Good judgment and self‑control.
• Safe workplace practices and adherence to personal care and safety standards.
• Understanding of family dynamics and the aging process.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition and food service.
• Basic personal care skills.
• Accurate observation, reporting, and record‑keeping.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

• Valid, current driver's license and reliable automobile, or access to public transportation.
• Completion of a 20‑hour training program or successful skills validation via direct observation.
• Preferred:
  Six months or more personal care experience in a home care setting.

• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and squat throughout the day.
• Ability to assist clients in and out of a vehicle and lift a wheelchair or walker weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer clients.
• Use arms, legs, hands, and fingers to assist clients with daily living tasks.
• Ability to perform light housekeeping, walking, and driving.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Good vision and hearing (with or without corrective aids).
