Tetra Tech’s Longmont, CO office, is currently seeking a mid-level Associate Planner responsible for leading entitlement projects for a variety of land use types across multiple jurisdictions. The Associate Planner will manage submittals from pre-application through approval, prepare technical analyses and staff reports, coordinate and negotiate with municipal staff, mentor junior staff, and support business development activities.

Essential Job Functions:Lead entitlement efforts for low-complexity projects (rezonings, concept plan amendments, conditional use permits, site plans, subdivisions, annexation packages) across multiple jurisdictions.
Support entitlement efforts for moderate- to high-complexity projects (rezonings, concept plan amendments, conditional use permits, site plans, subdivisions, annexation packages) across multiple jurisdictions.
Interpret and apply local codes and comprehensive plan policies; prepare tailored submittals, findings of fact, and staff reports.
Manage agency coordination: negotiate conditions of approval, track comments, prepare coordinated responses, and shepherd projects through review and public hearings.
Prepare and present technical analyses and hearing materials; present to project teams and, when appropriate, represent the firm at planning commission or council hearings with client.
Lead client communications, build strong working relationships with municipal staff, and organize community engagement strategies and public meetings.
Contribute to proposals, scope/fee estimates, and business development activities; manage project budgets, schedules, and billing.

Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree in urban planning (or closely related field).

-6 years of professional planning experience.
Demonstrated experience leading entitlement projects and navigating multiple municipal/county review processes.
Strong writing, public speaking, and negotiation skills.
Experience with GIS analysis, exhibit preparation, and review of technical reports.
Comfort working directly with clients, municipal staff, and stakeholders.
A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulation sis required.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in urban planning (or closely related field).
AICP certification or active pursuit of AICP.
Consulting experience (proposal work, fee/scope development, billing/time tracking).
Experience mentoring junior staff and managing small project teams.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD basics, and advanced GIS.
