Experience: A minimum of 3 years professional experience producing engineering drawings from CAD tools.

Minimum Education: Associate Degree in mechanical drafting, engineering technology, or related technical field.

Compensation: $32-$45/hour, depending on experience.

Summary: The Mechanical Drafter will produce high quality engineering drawings for complex assemblies requiring various machining and joining techniques in support of the development of cutting‑edge laser and electro‑optical systems.

• Collaborate with engineers to translate CAD models from a conceptual design phase into production‑ready documents.
• Generate and revise detailed engineering drawings from CAD models in Solid Works.
• Apply GD&T principles using ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Review drawings for dimensional accuracy, completeness and compliance with ASME standards.
• Prepare and update BOMs with part numbers and required quantities.
• Utilize PDM to maintain configuration control of models and drawings for development and release.

• The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience generating and reviewing engineering drawings for large, complex structures.

• Experience in Solid Works, Creo, Catia or similar CAD tools.
• Capability to use project management tools such as Jira, GITlabs, or MS Projects, to track and document assigned tasks.
• Experience working in DOD related industries:
  Directed Energy, Aerospace, Naval, or Land Systems.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and/or tooling experts to evaluate manufacturability and tolerancing constraints.
