The Aspen Center is a non-profit early care and education setting in Longmont, Colorado working with a diverse population of children and families. We focus on developmentally appropriate, creative experiences with children. We're located in the heart of downtown Longmont, which offers many wonderful opportunities for teachers and children.
Position SummaryAspen Center is currently seeking a PDIS 3.0 level II or higher qualified Early Childhood Teacher to fill a full-time role as a school-wide community support teacher to support the children and teachers at our school. This unique position offers the right person the opportunity to build strong relationships with every child and will benefit from partnering with teachers in each of our classrooms.

- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Development, or related field (preferred) High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Classroom teaching experience in a constructivist learning environment.
- PDIS 3.0 level II or higher (required).
- Group leader qualified. Must meet the Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) or Assistant Early Childhood Teacher (AECT) qualifications.
- CDA or Early Childhood Certificate.
- General knowledge of the State of Colorado Child Care Licensing rules and regulations and county health department guidelines.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).
- Collaborate with other ECE teachers daily to bring authentic learning experiences to children.
- Be a peer model for best practice in early childhood education.
- Support classroom teachers during planning, documentation time, and breaks.
- Guide children’s learning experiences.
- Build relationships with families to foster a strong home-school partnership.
- Support school-wide needs such as laundry, dishes, playground supervision, drop off and pick up procedures.
- Be first in line to substitute for teachers who are not at school.
- Adhere to the COVID policies implemented by Aspen Center and recommended by the CDC, CDPHE, and Boulder County Public Health.
- The necessary Education and Qualifications (listed above).
- Classroom experience.
- Are well organized, able to multi-task, work with flexibility, and embrace ambiguity.
- A passion for early childhood education and advocating for children, families, and teachers.
- Experience working in a Reggio Emilia-inspired context (preferred).
- See yourself as a lifelong learner.
- A desire to be a part of cultivating change.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Regular use of a computer.
- Reach in all directions.
- Lift or move up to 50lbs required.
- Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, and reach.
- Ascending or Descending stairs.
- Communicate clearly, hearing and listening.
Job Type: Full-time.
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.
