Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early childhood education principles and demonstrate a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months depending on classroom. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in young children.
Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Implementation:
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards for infants and our blended curriculum. - Classroom Environment:
Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning. - Child Assessment:
Monitor and assess children’s progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs. - Relationship Building:
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support children’s development. - Behavior Management:
Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among students. Additionally, support children with special needs or disabilities through tailored instructional strategies. - Classroom Maintenance:
Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness while ensuring all materials are accessible and free of hazards. - Collaboration:
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share best practices in teaching. - Health and Safety:
Provide supervision and organized attendance tracking. Provide first aid as necessary and ensure the health and safety of all children in your care. - Maintain Individualized Infant Care Plans:
Follow individualized care plans for infants in your care and work with families on a regular basis to adjust care based on development and readiness.
To aid in the health, safety, and overall well-being of our children and staff, Willowbrae Academy provides:
- On-Site Kitchen:
All meals are prepared in our Academy’s kitchen facilities, ensuring nutritious and balanced meals for the children and teachers. We promote family style eating and support healthy habits. Infants will have a blend of home provided bottles with breast milk or formula, as well as school provided infant snacks, purees, and kitchen made options. - Professional Cleaning Services:
Our facilities are maintained by a professional cleaning crew, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment supporting and easing the need for teachers to complete lengthy end of day cleaning rituals.
