Senior Accountant

Acara Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant for our client in Longmont, CO!

In this role, you will support accurate financial reporting, ensure sound accounting processes across sites, and contribute to scaling financial operations to match company growth.

We are seeking qualified candidates with:

• Strong accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

Here's what you'll do:

General Accounting & Month-End Close

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records across two business lines:
  One is local and the other covers Longmont and an international location.
• Perform variance analysis and provide commentary on financial results.
• Perform month end close in SAP with minimal supervision.

Multi-Site Operational Accounting

• Collaborate with site leaders to ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
• Review site-level transactions (e.g., inventory, R&D expenses, capital expenses) for accuracy and proper coding.
• Work to improve balance sheet reconciliation processes and ownership.
• Assist with intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations.
• Help standardize accounting procedures across locations to support operational scalability.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Support external audits, including evidence gathering and data schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Maintain documentation of key accounting processes
• Assist with Budget and Forecast preparation and analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure accurate expense tracking and project accounting.
• Support implementation and optimization of ERP systems and automation tools.

Position Type: Contract (9 months) to Potential Direct

Pay: Up to $46/hr.

Schedule: M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM
** 100% Onsite

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years' experience using Microsoft Excel and working with large datasets.
• Minimum 3 years' experience using ERP systems.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• MBA (Masters in Business Administration) or Master level degree in Accounting.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a multi-site, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with multi-entity structures or global operations/Swiss GAAP.
• Experience with SAP 4 Hana ERP system.
• CPA or CPA candidate.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Process improvement mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo.
