Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Attendance of Patient Safety Class
- Good communication skills.
- Full-Time Night; 36 hours per week
- Patient sitters provide key assistance with patients who require special precautions. Sitters are responsible for remaining with the assigned patient at all times during their shift except when relieved by staff for breaks; they must remain awake, alert and observant to prevent injury or escape.
- Comply with hospital policies on confidentiality, infection control and compassionate care. Adherence to patient restrictions and the ability to manage aggressive, violent, and confused behavior is required.
- While sitters provide a key assist to the nursing staff, they are not to perform any form of direct patient care. They are responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
