Job OverviewThe Echocardiographer performs adult and pediatric echo cardiographic studies and collaborates with physicians to diagnose and treat heart disease. This position reports identified safety issues and supports high-quality imaging to obtain diagnostic information.
Responsibilities- Performs adult and pediatric echo cardiographic studies including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow Imaging, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Reports identified safety issues (hazardous environments, medical errors, etc.).
- Performs echocardiograms with Doppler, color flow analysis, and strain to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
- Uses understanding of growth and development to determine age-specific patient needs and provide age-appropriate treatment.
- Assists the nurse and physician in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Administers Definity when necessary to obtain high-quality images.
- Performs echocardiograms on both hospital patients and outpatients, including offsite locations in the area.
- Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technology.
- ARDMS or CCI certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- Must be board eligible at time of hire.
- BLS through the American Heart Association.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
- Day Shift

- Scheduling will vary based on the needs of the department
- Weekend availability required
- Performs echocardiograms with Doppler, color flow analysis, and strain to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.
- Provides age-specific care by considering patient growth and development.
- Supports the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms with nurse and physician.
- Ensures high-quality imaging, including use of Definity when indicated.
- Works with hospital patients and outpatients, including offsite locations.
