Pay Range: $37.37 – $49.00 per hour (New Jersey). The actual compensation will depend on education, skills and experience.

The Medical Technologist reports to the laboratory manager and performs and interprets routine diagnostic assays on blood and body fluids. The role involves the preparation, identification, testing of specimens and the reporting and documentation of results.

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• Certified or eligible for certification by a Category I Agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, HHS/HEWS).

• Full‑time;
  Night shift.

• Confirms abnormal results, institutes follow‑up procedures, develops solutions for data generation problems, and correlates results with previous data and diagnoses.
• Evaluates new techniques, instruments, and procedures as required.
• Follows proper procedures for reporting and documenting laboratory test results.
• Institutes measures to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Documents corrective actions and notifies supervisor when quality control results exceed tolerance limits.
• Integrates and relates data from various laboratory sections and judges potential discrepancies.
• Performs all types of analytical testing on specimens with accuracy, precision, and efficiency under the pathologist’s direction.
• Performs and documents quality control according to established protocols.
• Judges results of quality control procedures.
• Performs procedures in two or more functional sections of the medical laboratory.
• Recognizes, evaluates, and solves specimen problems and follows procedures for specimen rejection.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
