What You’ll DoMonmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ is looking for a qualified individual for the Director of Central Sterile Supply department.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent, with certification as a CRCST or CBSPD, along with CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocessor) and CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader) credentials.
- A minimum of eight years of sterile processing experience is required, including at least five years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare or related field and a minimum of five years of sterile processing or perioperative leadership experience in an acute care hospital preferred

- Develop, implement and monitor department goals and objectives
- Provide strong team leadership, motivate staff and respond to individual and team needs
- Develop a strong team culture and handle staff conflict
- Collaborate with physicians, Service Line Managers, OR staff, administrative staff and others
- Lead and facilitate team meetings
- Self-directed in personal development: setting outcomes, seeking resources or learning, seeking and accepting feedback
- Plan time, organize workload and delegate effectively
- Align with hospital-wide objectives and priorities
- Support and participate in the Magnet Recognition process
- Clinically skilled, familiar with sterile processing developments
- Ensure operations comply with standards from regulatory agencies (e.g., JCAHO, NJ DOH, OSHA, AAMI)
- Oversee decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of reusable instruments and equipment
- Direct hospital-wide reprocessing functions including collection, transport, packaging, sterilization, disinfection, storage and distribution
- Monitor and maintain sterilization records according to state guidelines
- Coordinate repairs, refurbishments and replacements of instruments and equipment with Biomedical Engineering
- Recruiting, interviewing and hiring in collaboration with Human Resources
- Performance management and progressive discipline as needed
- Provide timely feedback and evaluations per RWJUH policies
- Promote effective two-way communication and staff satisfaction
- Develop annual unit budgets and manage resources to meet goals
- Allocate resources to meet workload demands and explain variances to VP, Perioperative Services and Finance
- Identify and plan for routine capital purchases and replacements
- Pursue cost-saving opportunities and analyze equipment and inventory spending
