The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate s educational background, skills and professional experience.

Responsibilities

Job Overview: The EKG Technician performs non-invasive cardiac testing inclusive of ECG, Holter monitoring and assistance with stress testing; provides physicians with data for use in diagnosing cardiac abnormalities; participates in unit quality improvement. Uses an understanding of principles of growth and development to determine each patient s age-specific needs and provides age-specific treatment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • BLS
  • Successful completion of a six-month probationary training period under the guidance of a qualified preceptor
  • Successful completion of all orientation programs
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Previous acute care experience
Scheduling Requirements
  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem Scheduling
Essential Functions
  • Assists physicians with on-site and remote editing of EKGs as needed
  • Processes EKG after order and demographic verification
  • Obtains 12 lead EKGs
  • Holtor monitoring
  • Assistance with stress testing
  • Performs other duties as required by the department
