VMWare Engineer

IDR is seeking a VMWareEngineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in New York, NY. This role offers a chance to work within a small, dynamic team supporting critical infrastructure services in a corporate banking environment. This position involves supporting and optimizing a VMware-based infrastructure environment, providing production (BAU) support for critical systems including Microsoft Exchange, and collaborating with US and UK teams to maintain stability, performance, and ongoing infrastructure initiatives.

• Support backups, Microsoft Exchange (hybrid: on-premise and Azure), and BAU production support.
• Assist with supporting infrastructure and server engineering, including admin tasks.
• Collaborate with both US and UK teams, supporting UK infrastructure transitions.
• Work within a small team managing core infrastructure services and responding to production issues.
• Participate in rotating shift schedules and support data center operations in New Jersey and Atlanta.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure support and server engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange, Citrix, VMware, and storage solutions.
• Basic networking knowledge; additional skills with Meraki are a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and non-technical business users.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with on-prem and cloud technologies, supporting both US and UK teams.
